The host site for the Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular held its 2008 Pro-Am, Wednesday April 23rd, at 12:30. Calm conditions and a perfectly manicured golf course lead to perfect scoring conditions for the event. Aaron West, Director of Golf, Dorado del Mar and 2005, 2006, 2007 Player of the Year lead the way with a (-5) 67 to win his first Pro-Am of the 2008 season. Second Place was host professional and PGA director of Golf Alberto Rios, with a (-2) 70, a third place tie between Jaso Tobar, Hector Fernandez and Robert Moreno with matching even par 72's rounded out medal scoring for the event. Hector Fernandez has posted a top 3 finish in all three events this year and headlines a packed top 5 in both points and score for 2008. The next scheduled event is the Dorado Beach Pro-Am at 12:30, May 14th immediately followed by the second chapter meeting of the year.

Palmas del Mar was a gracious host for their Pro-Am on the Flamboyan Golf course April 9th, at 12:30. The golf course was long and Eduardo Figueroa took advantage with a (-2) 70 and our first under par round by a professional as a winning score in the first Pro-am of the year. Second place was apprentice Jason Tobar with a (74), two shots clear of his next closest competitor. A third place tie was a cluster of professionals Rigo Morales (player Card), Hector Fernandez (player card) and George Smith, PGA professional at (76). Eduardo Figueroa followed up his Pro-Pro win with a Pro-Am win and leads both the points and score race for 2008.
