Dorado Beach hosted the first PGA/PRGA junior golf camp of 2006. Twenty-two junior golfers showed up to this unique partnership event. Aaron West and Robert Birtel acted as host professionals and showed the kids the finer points of the grip, alignment, set-up, stance, posture, as well as full swing, chipping, pitching and putting. The event started a little after 9 a.m. and continued until about 11:30 at the Dorado Beach golf range. Kids traveled from as far as Ponce to attend this event and all were looking forward to the next scheduled camp at El Conquistador on June 12th, 2006 from 9-11 a.m. The cost of the program was $20 which included range balls, water, gatoraide and snacks. Host professional's Seth Henrich and Trent Bluemel are in for a large camp if the first event at Dorado Beach is any indication of the success of the program. Special thanks to the PRGA for their efforts pre-registering the kids and informing all parents of dates, times, and locations. The schedule for the year is as follows; El Conquistador June 12, Rio Mar July 17, Coco Beach July 24, Coco Beach July 31. All from 9-11, and all sign-ups will be run through the PRGA.
