Dorado del Mar was the host for the beginning of the fall swing and George Smith from Dorado Beach is your winner. After a four consecutive birdie stretch George survived a triple bogey 8 on the eighteenth to win by one stroke. George's (-2) 70 starts a new winning scores under par streak. Second place was host professional Aaron West with a (-1) 71, followed by former Dorado del Mar Director of Golf Paul Veneziano with a (+1) 73. The next Island Chapter event will be Wednesday, September 12th, 2007 at Costa Caribe in Ponce, Puerto Rico. As a reminder, Get your team ready for the Pro-Superintendent September 17th, 2007 at El Conquistador in Fajardo. Island chapter

The three PGA/PRGA junior Golf Summer Sundays have been completed and many thanks goes to Robert Moreno, Ellie Rodriguez, Tony Loyola, Robert Birtel, Jose Rodriguez, Aaron West and Laura Diaz. The hard work of the Professional Golfers Association of America and the Puerto Rico Golf Association made these events a success. Many junior golfers that may not have been exposed to golf this summer were given access to great golf and great golf professionals in these 3 hour sessions. We look forward to building on the success of this program through the remainder of 2007 and into the summer of 2008.
