Wednesday July 11, 2007 marked the 1 Pro- 1 Jr. for the tournament season. 9 professionals and their partners ranging in age from 8-17 took part in this important event. Low professional honor was taken by Hector Fernandez, 2nd was Aaron West and 3rd place by Robert Birtel. In the important team game 3rd place was Hector Fernandez and his partner, 2nd was Carlos Cestero and our winner with a 9 year old female member of the Plantaion Club Robert Birtel. The next scheduled event is the Pro-Am for Dorado del Mar, Wednesday August 15th 2007.

The first PGA/PRGA junior golf clinic was held at Dorado del Mar on Sunday July 1st. 7 area youngsters showed up to work on their putting, chipping, irons and woods. This was the first scheduled PGA/PRGA junior golf clinic of the year and 2 more are already on the books including Costa Caribe in Ponce, Puerto Rico on Sunday July 29th from 9-11 am and the final event currently on the schedule for 2007 junior golf is Rio Mar on Sunday August 5th, 2007. The Caguas Real Pro-Am is in the books and after a little tee box trouble the event was a success. Hector Fernandez shot a year low 68 (-2) on the Caguas Real links to take home the crown. Second place was points leader Aaron West, who continues to put up top four finishes without a win. Third place in his last event before relocation is the Dominican's newest import Brian Shaver with a +1 71. Rounding up the top 4 included host professional Paul Veneziano, Jesus Rodriguez, Robert Moreno and Benny Nieves with matching 73's. The next scheduled chapter event will be the Pro-Jr, which has been modified this year to include on 1 Pro- 1 Junior. The event will be followed by a chapter meeting and is an important event on the 2007 schedule. Jesus Rodriguez in only 2 events leads the scoring average with 73.5.
