The Caguas Real Pro-Am was won by Jason Tobar PGA Apprentice with a score of (-4) 66 on Wednesday september 17th, in Caguas Puerto Rico. Five Island chapter members shot under par scores including Robert Moreno, George Smith, Hector Fernandez and Joel Ortiz. The important Pro-Superintendent event, the Agro Open is the next event on the chapter schedule with the tournament taking place Monday October 6th @ El Conquistador in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. This event brings together the golf professional, their superintendent's, golf industry supporters and suppliers. This is the third annual event and special thanks goes out to host professional Seth Henrich and tournament title sponsor Peter Vivoni with Agro servicios. The 1 Professional, 1 Amateur event is a gross event that aks each Island chapter professional to bring their best to this 18 hole best ball event. The event will be taking place on Wednesday October 15th at Rio Mar CC. Twenty (2) person teams are expected to participate. Unfortunately due to the economics of the flight to St. Thomas the Mahogany Run Pro-Am will not be taking place as scheduled for October 22nd. Thank you to all those Island chapter professionals who showed their support for Nevin and Mahogany Run in the past and we look for a triumphant return of the event in 2009. The final event on the Chapter schedule for October is a first time event and one designed to enhance the competition level here on the island. The Island chapter Open will be taking place October 25, 26th at Trump International. Alberto Rios host professional has set up a great two days of golf for anyone interested in testing their skills. All prepaid participants will be allowed to play one pratice round at no charge Monday-Friday the week of October 20-24. Each paid participant will receive a logoed cap, divot tool, food, drinks and the chance to participate in a closed qualifier for the Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular along with an estimated $7,500 in tournament purse. Top ten and ties will qualify for a 54 hole walking qualifier to determine the one exemption into the March 2009 Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular.Thank youIsland chapter
