Rafael "the rake" Castrillo Junior decided to show up and play and shot a (-2) 70 at the Plantation Club @ Dorado Beach on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Jason Tobar shot a (-1) 71 to take second place and Rigo Morales of Caguas Real fired an even par 72 to finish third. The Professional prizes were rounded out by Joel Ortiz and Robert Moreno, who shot matching 73's. The Island chapter take a short 1 month break while junior camps and member guest season is in full swing and the next scheduled event will take place on August 4th at El Llegado, the home of Chi Chi Rodriguez. The 1 Pro, 1 Junior is an important event to help our chapter grow the game and the event will be followed by 3 important activities, 2009-2010 officers election, 2008 Award nominations and the end of summer chapter meeting. Many of the Island chapter members travel to the Aruba International Pro-Am taking place Aug 22-24 and the Island chapter challenges the PRGA and their group of amateurs on September 7th at Costa Caribe in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
